Tower’s briquetting plant was designed to be a multi-stream facility capable of producing both traditional coal products and environmentally enhanced coal/ biomass briquettes for domestic, commercial and industrial applications.
Our cold-cured binding system yields a briquette that is environmentally friendly, cost effective and stable at combustion temperatures.
Today, our all-coal briquette is viable, but we are not yet in commerical production of a biomass briquette. The problems have been with supply of biomass, itself.
It is vital that government supports the energy potential of refuse derived waste (RDF). Mechanical biological treatment and aerobic digesters now produce safe, consistent RDF – making waste a potential energy resource, rather than a problem.
Given the opportunity, we will use RDF in a successful coal/biomass briquette.
